Blue Jeans Go Green
Denim Recycling Drive - Results

OUR LOCAL DRIVE ENDED MAY 31, 2021

Across the globe, textiles enter landfills at the rate of an entire garbage truck every second,
but by working together we made a difference.

In the month of May 2021, between participating Fairport schools,
local drop boxes, and our collection box at the farmer's market,

Color Fairport Green collected a total
of 349 items weighing 410 pounds!

CFG would like to extend special thanks
to these members of our community who stepped up
in partnership with us to make a difference and divert waste:

~ Perinton Community Center ~ RV&E Bike & Skate ~ Gold's Gym ~
~ The Box Factory ~ Brighton Pathways to Health ~ Fairport Farmer's Market ~

Cotton

Why

Every year nearly 16 million tons of textile waste are sent to landfills and forgotten.
(Source EPA 2020)

To help divert textile waste from landfills, Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program recycles old denim, made from cotton, and turns it into something new! Have an old pair of jeans, let’s put them to good use!
