Christmas Lights on Trees

The 2025-2026 Holiday Lights Recycling Event collected 1,547 pounds of lights!

This brings our three-season total to over three thousand pounds of lights repurposed!

Thank you to all who dropped off lights at one of the following collection points:

Fairport Fitness

What's Good

The Box Factory

Perinton Community Center

Firehouse Woodworks

Thanks also to ALPCO Recycling for re-purposing the lights!

Don't Trash Your Holiday Lights...

Recycle them instead!

What types of lights can be recycled?
Any old, broken, or otherwise unused holiday lights.

How does it work?
You drop off unused holiday lights for recycling at any of the locations below, from now until February 2nd. CFG then brings all donated lights to ALPCO Recycling, where the wires are stripped and precious metals (like copper) are recovered. The plastic goes into a shredder and is sent to a plant where it will be pelletized and made into other materials.

Where do I drop off my unwanted lights for recycling?
Look for collection boxes with "Recycle Those Lights" signage at these locations:

When does this recycling drive end?
February 2, 2026
