How to get involved

Take action on the climate issues you care about!

Explore the wide range of topics that members of our community work on, and see if there's something there that interests you. In some cases, we have a CFG Committee working on hyper-local projects, but we've included links to other organizations and resources since we regularly collaborate with other groups to take meaningful action in our local, regional, national, and global communities.

Attend a Color Fairport Green community meeting

The larger "all-hands" CFG Community meets monthly to share updates as we seek out ways to leverage proven climate solutions in our local community. Meetings are open to all, there is no official membership status required to join the conversation. See our calendar for currently scheduled upcoming meetings and events. Join us!

Join a focused CFG committee

Our work concerns a wide range of climate issues, but we have local committees of CFG members working on specific projects, including: encouraging sustainability best practices in our school district (Sustainable Schools); aiming to restore and protect the biodiversity of our local ecosystems for pollinators (Healthy Yards & Landscapes); and striving to reduce methane emissions by diverting food waste from the landfill (Composting). While it's not all we do, those are some hyper-local focal points. Please know that there is a much broader range of climate issues that our community members volunteer their time to work on, and we need you on those teams, too!

If you're not sure where you fit, just reach out. We are deeply involved with the rich climate movement in Rochester (and beyond) and would love to connect you with the people and the projects that make the most sense for you, your interests, your available time, and your level of commitment. Taking action is something we all must do, in whatever way we can.

Color Fairport Green is a volunteer organization.

Our work relies on the concerns, experience, generosity, and commitment of the community members who want to be involved. If you're not sure where you "fit" - please reach out to us
